When you create an account, book a lesson, or interact with TuneMatch, we collect information you provide directly — including your name, email address, profile photo, and payment details processed securely through Stripe. We also automatically collect usage data such as pages visited, time spent on the platform, device type, and IP address to improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Facilitate lesson bookings and payments between students and teachers
• Send booking confirmations, reminders, and receipts
• Respond to support requests
• Improve our platform and develop new features
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate TuneMatch — including Stripe for payment processing, Supabase for database hosting, and Vercel for platform hosting — all of whom are bound by confidentiality agreements. We may also disclose information when required by law.

When you book a lesson, your first name and profile photo are shared with the teacher to facilitate the session. Teachers' publicly listed profiles (name, bio, pricing, ratings) are visible to all users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Booking and payment records are kept for seven years to comply with financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@tunematch.com, subject to these legal retention requirements.

5. Cookies

TuneMatch uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We also use analytics cookies (Vercel Analytics) to understand how the platform is used in aggregate — no personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect sign-in functionality.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Data portability

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), row-level security on our database, and we never store raw payment card data — all payments are handled directly by Stripe. Despite these measures, no internet transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

TuneMatch is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of TuneMatch after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
